glossary / MCP gateway

What is MCP gateway?

An MCP gateway (or tool router) sits between agents and many MCP servers, brokering discovery and tool calls with auth, policy, and sometimes reliability-aware failover.

Gateways are single-tenant by nature; an independent reliability feed gives them a cross-ecosystem signal to route around outages.
